Q: "What is the maximum width a cassette blind can be manufactured to?"
A: The maximum width is usually 3.5 metres but we may be able to manufacture wider screens by special request. Depending on the type of fabric ⁄ film it is also possible to extend the drop from 3 metres to 4 metres in some cases.
Q: "Why is Double Pulley Bottom Rail with constant tension spring operation recommended for most solar screen installations?"
A: This system is suitable for all windows and particularly sloping windows as it provides sufficient tension to support the screen. By using guide pulleys, push button and cord clamp, a screen can be operated from a location 3 to 4 metres away from the window. This is particularly useful where there is no direct access to the bridge windows. Additional guide pulleys, cord etc can be supplied to suit a variety of situations.
Q: "What film colour do you recommend?"
A: There are 4 films to choose from so we would normally ask what the major problem was - Heat or Glare? If the problem is heat then there is a significant difference in effectiveness of the various films. If the end user has no objection to highly reflective films at the navigation bridge windows we usually suggest GOLD as first choice and SILVER as second choice. If there is any doubt about using highly reflective films or a definite request to avoid them, then we would normally recommend GREY as a first choice (because it is more effective) or BRONZE if the customer requires only minimal but still effective protection. If the problem is mainly glare then GOLD, SILVER and GREY films are almost equally effective and so the references to end user preference would probably dictate which one was chosen. Whatever colour shade film is supplied, there will be a noticeable reduction in heat and glare within the area the screens are protecting, creating a safer more comfortable working environment. All film colours are the same price.
Q: "Why do some blinds ⁄ screens have a horizontal join?"
A: Rolls of fabric and film come in various widths. If the dimensions of the blind ⁄ screen required are bigger than the roll width in both the width and drop, then it is not possible to make it up in one piece. A horizontal join would therefore be required to connect the pieces of fabric ⁄ film together. Note: a vertical join is not possible.
Q: "What electrical control equipment is supplied as standard with an electrically operated blind ⁄ screen?"
A: A surface mounting 3-position rocker switch.
Q: "How many low voltage motorised blinds ⁄ screens can be run from one transformer?"
A: You can run up to ten 24 volt motorised roller blinds ⁄ screens from one transformer.
Q: "Is the width of the fabric ⁄ film exactly the same width as the roller ⁄ screen?"
A: No. The roller pin ends need to turn inside the brackets, which means that they have to extend beyond the edges of the roll tube supporting the fabric ⁄ film. An additional clearance is also necessary. The fabric ⁄ film width is therefore 38mm narrower than the blind ⁄ screen roller pin or cassette width, depending on the type of product ordered.
