All eighteen of Solar Solve Marine’s employees enjoyed a meal at a local Indian food restaurant in Ocean Road, South Shields to celebrate Leanne Reilly and Paul Hopkins ten years service with the company. The Directors are pleased and proud of the great contribution Leanne, an Office Administrator and Paul, the Sales and Marketing Executive have made towards the many successes that the company has achieved over the last decade. In line with the established tradition, a presentation was made by Company Chairman, John Lightfoot MBE and Company Secretary, Lilian Lightfoot to thank them for their hard work and loyal service.
It means that 50% of employees have now been with the company for 10 years or more, an achievement the owners are very proud of
Leanne’s administration tasks keep her firmly rooted within Solar Solve’s Port of Tyne based manufacturing facility, whereas Paul’s sales and marketing role creates world wide travel on a regular basis. In fact Paul and the Chairman are heading off to New Orleans at the end of November to work on Solar Solve Marine’s exhibition stand at the International Work Boat show, an event the company last attended in 2004.
John Lightfoot explains, “We were due to exhibit in 2005 but as a result of hurricane Katrina the show was cancelled. By time things were on the mend there we had found alternative exhibitions to attend.”
“However due to a significant increase in orders from the USA it seems like a good time to make it a target market and to re-invest some of our marketing budget in this exhibition. We are also arranging some sales visits to the country over the next 12 months.”
Before that however, John and daughter, Julie Lightfoot, the Managing Director are off to Korea for a week to visit the Kormarine exhibition in Busan. They will also visit their biggest customer, chairman HR Zong of Samgong Co. Ltd, with whom they have traded for almost 20 years and who makes a significant contribution to Solar Solve Marine’s annual turnover.

The celebration dinner was attended by all 18 members of the Solar Solve team.
