I was a little bit disappointed earlier today when I decided to check up on the number of countries we have sent our products to since Solar Solve Marine was formed 29 years ago and the SOLASOLV brand was established.
At my last count in October 2015 the total was 95 and it is still 95. I had been hoping for a couple more. It is certainly a great achievement and proves just how difficult it is for a highly successful organisation at the very top of the tree to keep getting better. Within the first 5 years we had supplied every major shipbuilding and ship-owning nation, to the extent that when walking through shipyards on a UK Trade Mission to South Korea I was told by workers that SOLASOLV was, “Very famous”. At that time I was also asked by Tyne Tees Television if they could accompany me on a UK Trade Mission to Japan when I visited Mitsubishi Kobe shipyard, because they were impressed with Solar Solve’s remarkable successes. During the filming the reporter interviewed the yard manager, who was installing SOLASAFE screens to the bridge windows of a series of containers ships for Evergreen and who told him we had a very good product with a lot of potential.
A couple of years later we met with the same success and similar experiences when visiting shipyards in China.
All 3 countries continue to be significant customers and along with the other 92 countries they are the reason that we have always been the Brand Leading manufacturer of roller screens that reject glare, heat and uv light for the global marine industry.
The good news is, there are a lot more countries around the world that could be added to the list and we are still working on it.
