In line with Solar Solve Marine’s continuous efforts to remain No.1 in the marine industry for the manufacture and supply of roller sunscreens, the company has just won a 4th Type Approval Certification for their SOLASOLV products.
At the beginning of December, after an in-depth inspection and some rigorous testing by examiners at RINA (the Italian naval registration organisation), the Type Approval was awarded and the certificate arrived a few weeks later. A copy is displayed on the Solar Solve website and can be accessed from here (www.solasolv.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/RINA-Cert-Watermarked.pdf ).
The SOLASOLV brand of antiglare screens is now type approved by 4 of the world’s leading marine classification societies, LLOYDS of the UK, DNV-GL (Det Norske Veritas of Norway), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and RINA.
Company Chairman John Lightfoot, MBE, commented, “In the old days I used to dream of being the best and worked hard to create the SOLASOLV brand as No.1 in the marine industry. In my naivety I had assumed that afterwards I would be able to relax and bask in the glory, but of course life’s not that easy. Once you get there, you have to fight to stay there, because the only way you can move is down. Winning a fourth Type Approval for our SOLASOLV products is one way of keeping ahead and remaining on top.”
“The successes that this company regularly enjoys are down to the hard work, commitment and dedication of the fantastic team of people here at our headquarters in South Shields. They are SOLAR SOLVE MARINE and everything our World Class company stands for. Not only have we won this additional approval from RINA, we have never lost the No.1 position since we established it 30 years ago, an achievement we are all extremely proud of.”
