Solar Solve Marine has recently received a large order for 38 class approved roller screens to be installed at the navigation bridge of the M/S Stena Feronia – a Passenger / Vehicle Ferry owned and operated by Stena Line.

The vessel was built at Cantiere Navale Visentini in Italy and launched in 1996. Originally named Mersey Viking she was built for Norse Irish Ferries to operate between Liverpool and Belfast. She is 21,856 GT with a length of 186 metres and a beam of 25.6 metres. The vessel can carry 370 passengers and has 2,150 lane meters for carrying vehicles.

Solar Solve specialises in providing sun and glare protection for the marine and offshore industry, and SOLASOLV® anti-glare screens are installed at the windows of all types of ships, rigs and cranes worldwide. Regarded as an essential safety product, they effectively reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun to significantly reduce eye-strain. Visual displays are easier to read and a clear outward view is maintained for safer navigation and marine operations. A more comfortable working environment means the ships’ crew are less prone to fatigue which can cause human error. Suitable for newbuilds and retrofits, SOLASAFE® screens are guaranteed for 7 years and Type Approved by Lloyds, ABS and DNV-GL.

Paul Hopkins, Sales & Marketing Executive at Solar Solve commented, “This order for SOLASAFE® sun screens was yet another one from Stena Line having in the past ordered our products for the Stena Adventurer, Stena Voyager, Stena Explorer, Stena Britannica, Stena Leader, Stena Pioneer and also the Stena Transporter which shows that the company places great faith and value in our company and the products we manufacture.”
